Thanksgiving 20-Layered Lasagna with Tomato Sauce and Ricotta Cheese

Name

20-Layered Lasagna with Tomato Sauce and Ricotta Cheese

Ingredients

  1. A package of lasagna noodles
  2. Two jars tomato sauce
  3. One container ricotta cheese
  4. Four eggs
  5. A bag shredded mozzarella cheese
  6. A block parmesan cheese
  7. Salt and pepper to taste
  8. Garlic cloves minced
  9. Dried basil leaves
  10. Dried oregano leaves

Instructions

Step one - Prep Work

Begin by preheating your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. While that's heating up, start boiling a large pot of salted water for cooking the noodles in. Once this is done, cook them according to their package directions until they are al dente or tender but still firm. Remember not to overcook them as they will continue cooking in the oven later on! When cooked drain them well and lay them flat onto some wax paper so they don’t stick together while you prepare everything else.

Step two – Make The Sauce

In another pan heat up both jars of tomato sauce along with minced garlic cloves, dried basil leaves, and dried oregano leaves until it starts bubbling then lower the heat and let simmer until all the flavors have blended nicely which should take around 15 minutes.

Step three – Mix The Cheesy Custard

In a separate bowl beat four eggs lightly and mix them into your container of ricotta cheese. Then grate some fresh Parmesan cheese (about half a cup) and stir it into the mixture too. Season this mixture generously with salt and black pepper to give it more depth of flavor.

Step Four – Assemble Your Lasagna

Now comes the fun part...assembly! Start off by spreading a layer of tomato sauce at the bottom of your lasagna dish. Next place down a single layer of lasagna noodles followed by another layer of tomato sauce. After that spread half of the cheesy custard evenly over the top before adding another layer of pasta sheets. Repeat these steps starting with the sauce until you run out of ingredients, ending with a final layer of pasta covered with the remaining sauce and lastly sprinkle generously with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Step Five - Bake It Off

Cover your assembled lasagna dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about an hour or until it's heated through and bubbly. Once done remove from the oven and allow to stand for 10-15 minutes before serving so everyone gets a nice slice when they dig in. Enjoy your delicious 20 layered lasagna!
