Thanksgiving Sweet Potato Casserole


Sweet Potato Casserole Ingredients: - 3 cups mashed sweet potatoes - 1/2 cup granulated sugar - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon salt - 1 large egg, beaten - 1/4 cup melted butter - 1/2 cup evaporated milk - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For the topping: - 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar - 1/3 cup all-purpose flour - 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed - 1 cup chopped pecans


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the mashed sweet potatoes, granulated sugar, nutmeg, and salt until well combined. Stir in the egg, melted butter, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  3. To make the topping, combine the brown sugar, flour, and cubed butter in a separate bowl using your fingertips or a pastry cutter until crumbly. Mix in the chopped pecans. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the sweet potato layer.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes, or until bubbly around the edges and golden brown on top. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
